The feature narrates the life and work of the Franco-Brazilian military intellectual Almirante Augusto Leverger, the Baron of Melgaço. A man who, at the height of the 19th century, dedicated his life to science and to protecting the region of the western border of Brazil, the distant province of Mato Grosso.
